I am Sayanista

Being a Sayanista student meant guts and intelligence. You simply just don’t get in. I, as an aspiring Doctor, dreams to get in this prestigious school. Its name and glory shines bright that every ambitious student wants to study here. If you’d ask me if I deserve to be in this school, I probably give you two answers. A yes and a no. Why you may ask? Well, yes, I do deserve to be in this school because I did study hard back then when I was in elementary to be able to get in this school, I even entered review classes to prepare myself for the entrance exams. And no, because I feel in myself that I am not enough to be a student in this school, considering all mischievous acts I did and all wrong doings, I might have been nowhere right now if it wasn't for the deliberations.
I need this opportunity to have a better future. My mother has been forcing me to transfer ever since she saw me struggling, not only in my studying competencies but as well as my body. To be honest, I am not used to the stress the studying brought me, but I want to prove myself that I can do it, so I push myself. It did eventually brought me to a good position and I’m happy for myself right now. The school let me experienced different teachings, far from different to other schools I know. And that’s exactly what I want. I want to be unique from others when the time comes, I want to have that special capability that Cavite National Science High School taught me. I know that this capability will bring me to high points. The title “Cavite National Science High School” will be with my name and it will give people good impressions. So why do I need to continue studying in CavSci? Simple. To have a better future that typical schools can’t offer me.
This school has taught me many lessons. But it all starts from experience, not with the lesson. Most times, you have to know first that what you've done is wrong so that you can deal with the consequences. Fairness cannot be clearly felt among others. That’s why we are ranked to know our competencies when it comes to studying – this will serve as a goal, to always be on top. These experiences molded me into a strong person. Cavite National Science High School brought me to reality that some schools hide. These difficulties are preparations for our college-life. These struggles gave me stress and rebellions, but I don’t regret any of it because it gave me lessons.

I am so honored to study in Cavite National Science High School. It may not be very evident in my actions that I am a Sayanista but I’m still working on it, probably the thought will hit me when I graduate… or if I graduate. Graduate or not, I will do my very best to prove myself that I am worthy of this institution because I am me, and I know my capabilities. I know in myself that I can do this and someday I’ll leave vehement marks on people I meet and this will ascertain that I am a Sayanista.

Economic Heroes

The first thing that pops through my mind when I hear the word “OFW” is sacrifice. Millions of families in the Philippines most likely have a family member overseas, not for the sake of having a luxurious life but rather for the living of the family. Most of the time, working overseas is a must. It’s just a Filipino is usually unfortunate to have descent and constant jobs in their homeland to sustain the needs of their family.
Considering Filipino’s culture and tradition, it is indeed hard to be away from your loved ones. Although it is against somebody’s will to be detached from their family, they need to do it for their family to survive this poverty – filled country.
Not only do OFW’s sacrifice their lives lacking love from his family, they have this big responsibility to not only represent his homeland in a foreign country but also have enough money to send to your family, to earn for your personal expenses and if possible, earn money to visit back home. It is indeed difficult to live overseas because it has new everything. They’ll meet new people with different traditions as them, it may be tough but they must handle the pain.
However, OFW plays a big role in economic boosts in our country. They are sometimes termed as “Economic Heroes,” them sending money or remittances to their family contributes so much to the country’s economic progress and growth.
Overseas Filipino Workers cannot be thwarted. The best thing to do for them, in return to what they progress they have done to our country, is to show much needed appreciation to their hard work. They must be respected and idolized. They may be just typical persons but their sacrifices defined who they are, they might have not have a college degree but they are heroes of their families and their country.

Deadly Sins in CNSHS

These are violations in Cavite National Science High School. I confess that I do these sins too. I would like to correct these soon but for now here are those deadly sins in our school:

      Late Comers
-          One should be committed to waking up early for school. It’s simply a forced sacrifice for every student but everybody should do it in able to achieve something in life… or simply start your day productively in school. Those who come to school after 7 am are considered late. It’s not that embarrassing until the first day of the week. They must have a separate flag ceremony and be punished by either squats, jumping jacks or worst, jumping squats.

      Physical Appearance
-          Part of the school’s rules is a proper haircut for boys, appropriate haircut and correct morals. Everybody should consider these for we students have agreed on these terms. This reflects a Sayanista outside and inside the school. Caught violators are called by Sir Tom and they sign on Sir’s little black book.

Filthy Little People
-          These are litterers of the school. One of CNSHS trademark on their students is being tidy. A student must not be able to stand a waste on the ground and he must pick up the litter whether he is or is not responsible of the trash. Students of this generation are not maintaining cleanliness thus they are the ones who litter around the school.

Speak in the Language of Fancy
-          Everyone must follow the ESP (English Speaking Policy). The school has been weak regarding in speaking in English. It may sound easy but when a student is used to speaking in his mother tongue, it is very difficult to train yourself in fluently speaking in English. However, rules are rules, everybody must speak in English in order to have the language ace for us. Students today neglect this policy for they have too much pride in their selves that they are good enough or probably they are just really uncomfortable speaking in a different language.

Dirty Mouths
-          Generations today are very shameful. I am honest that kids today are used to curse. But what’s really shameful is that they are public about it. It is against God and against a person when somebody curse. The school is a temple of good morals – not an example of filthy personalities/mouth.

Tricksters
-          Cheating is very common. It is a pull that someone may not probably resist. Copying is the usual way of cheating. But what I know is that students in a good state of mind knows when to cheat and when to not, but of course it’s best if students do not cheat at all. This is only a sign that not only that you are lying to your classmates or teachers but you are also lying to yourself. This is a sin to God. However, what’s really sad is that not everybody cheats. They are only involve because of the people around them. Some only cheat because they are forced to. He might really studied but as he sees his classmate cheat, he is intimidated for he had gave his hard work on it to excel but he feels it’s simply not fair for others to cheat and have a high score.

Cut out Freedom
-          Students nowadays are not allowed to speak up, leading them to rebel against their teachers. They should be allowed to speak what they have on mind as long as he does not assault others. It’s a way of correcting others however some people does not want to be corrected. A student’s thought is buried in his heart. It kills somebody and drives them to do unwanted things.

Sloths
-          Cavite National Science High School means intelligent students, persevering students, and almost perfect beings. A Sayanista is responsible of his job as student of CNSHS. He must be industrious of his studies. He must sort out his priorities and do what is must. It is a shame that students nowadays neglect this name of CNSHS.

Bullies

-          Students in CNSHS are judges. They like to point out flaws in their schoolmates. And sometimes they’re opinions get too personal. It reaches the internet and they bully a student, embarrassing them from others. In the internet what’s viral is that they post anonymously. They hurt other people by saying awful things to them. This is not right. God did not made us to judge. It is His responsibility to judge us for we are nothing compared to Him. We must respect everybody.

Stop the War

Police officers fought until their lives were taken from them. 9 hours of intense battle destroyed the future of 44 people protecting their home country. They fought with their own blood, wanting to gain peace in between. This tragic event brought the Philippines in so much grief.
The Moro Islamic Liberation Front and the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters made its way to show what they have to the PNP – SAF after supposedly entering an MILF area to arrest Filipino bomb makers Usman and Marwan, killing tons of people. From reading articles about the catastrophe, it broke my heart considering that the soldiers did ask for help but everything was too late. The sacrifices of these soldiers are completely remarkable and forever will be remembered and appreciated.
They were all heroes, although their lives were unfairly finished, they proved that they are all courageous. They served as an inspiration to many citizens of the Philippines. They gave out a message that terrorists are still there and they will indeed fight - but we are Filipinos and we can go through this. Probably not today, but in the future, there will still be lots of battles among the government and those who oppose it. They might be both wanting peace but we should never consider shedding blood as an option for it. These lives of the 44 soldiers will never be back but we could always pray for them and their killers. I hope this is a sign that we should be strong and stop all these commotions.
